KADAI Paneer Masala Recipe / Butter Paneer Masala – Indian cottage cheese or paneer cooked in onion tomato gravy with kadai masala included with hint of heavy cream. It is cooked in pot thats how it got its name as kadai dish. Let’s learn it –

 

INGREDIENTS

Unsalted butter – 6 tbsp
Paneer – 250 gm
Chopped onion – 140 gm
Dice onion – 80 gm
Tomato (Skinless) – 240 gm
Green pepper – 125 gm
Ginger / garlic paste – 1 tbsp
Heavy cream – 1/3 cup
Green cardamon – 4
Black cardamon – 1
Cinnamon stick -1
Coriander seeds – 1 tsp
Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
Green chilly – 3
Salt – 1 tsp
Black pepper – 1 tsp
Red chilly powder – 1 tsp
Turmeric – 1 tsp
Garam masala – 1 tsp
Fenugreek leaves – 1 tbsp
Cumin powder – 1/2 tsp
Water 1/3 cup

RECIPE
1. In a pot, add unsalted butter (4 tbsp) on high heat. Melt the butter.
2. Add 1 tsp coriander seeds. 1 tsp cumin seeds.
3. Add 1 cinnamon stick, green cardamon seeds 4, and 1 black cardamon. Stir for 10 seconds.
4. Add 3 green chillies. Stir for another 10 seconds.
5. Add 1 tbsp ginger /garlic paste and stir for 15 seconds.
6. Add 140 gm chopped onion and stir until onion get golden brown.
7. Switch flame to medium (till the end).
8. Add 1 tsp salt after 30 seconds.
9. Add skinless tomatoes 240 gm.
10. Add cumin powder 1/2 tsp, Turmeric powder 1 tsp, garam masala 1 tsp, black pepper 1 tsp, red chilly powder 1 tsp. Stir for another 5 mins. Try to mash everything.
11. Add 125 gm diced green peppers.
12. Add water 1/3 cup. Stir well and cover the lid for 3-4 mins.
13. Open the lid and add 2 tbsp of unsalted butter. Add diced onions 80 gm. Stir well and cover the lid for another 5 mins.
14. Open lid and add 1/3 cup of heavy cream.
15. Add paneer 250 gm.
16. Add kasuri methi / fenugreek leaves 1 tbsp.
17. Stir well and cover the lid for 5 mins and it should be done at the time.

Serve with naan!
